Quarterly Update - September 2024
Dear residents and community members,
There’s much to report since our last update, with lots of milestones hit and community events to tell you about.
Work has started on Mambourin Marketplace, with Coles announced as the anchor tenant for the $60 million shopping centre.
Our third park and playground, Shillings Road Park, opened last month and with its rock-climbing boulder, spaghetti weave structure and “music room”, the park is already proving popular with residents and visitors alike. We encourage all our residents to get along and check it out.
As you’ve likely noticed, work is forging ahead on Good News Lutheran College Mambourin, with the school set to commence classes in Term 1, 2025. Enrolment information for interested future students can be found here.
Construction work is continuing on the Aspire Childcare Centre within the Black Forest Road gateway commercial precinct. It’s also set to open early next year.
Aside from construction work, we’re also working hard to build our community, with an exciting program of community events coming up, too.
Mambourin Fair, on October 5 from noon to 5pm at Barrabool Park, will be a great day out for everyone, with pony rides, face-painting, food trucks, mini golf, DJ and classic lawn games as well as the chance to meet local government, community and emergency organisations such as Life Saving Victoria, the Wyndham City Council’s Street Surfer Bus and St John Ambulance with its CPR Lab.
Other events to put in the diary include the Meet Your Neighbour event on Saturday, November 16, a Let’s Do Dinner Business Networking event on Tuesday, November 26 and our Christmas Lights Competition, which starts December 1.
And with the weather warming up, we’re pleased to say Food Truck Fridays are back, every second Friday of the month in the Club Mambourin carpark from 5pm to 8pm.
You can find out more about all these events here on the My Mambourin Facebook page.
You might have noticed some work going on at our Discovery Centre. It’s been refurbished and refreshed ahead of the exciting launch of our sister community, Mambourin Green.
The new-look venue will host the October 26 Mambourin Green launch with food, drink, activities and entertainment in and around the centre from noon to 3pm.
Located 800m west of Mambourin, Mambourin Green will include approximately 2,000 homes and a residents’ club. The Mambourin Discovery Centre will handle enquiries for both communities for three years before a Mambourin Green Sales Office is opened within the new community’s town centre.
As usual we will continue to update residents via email and keep the community engaged via Facebook. If you live outside Mambourin but would like to receive updates by email, please sign up at www.frasersproperty.com.au/VIC/Mambourin/Contact or contact us on 13 38 38.
