Everyone loves Ed.Square — here’s why

14 June 2019

According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, more people are living in apartments now than ever before. In fact, over the past 25 years, the number of people swapping houses for apartments has increased by 78 per cent, and there are a number of motives driving this change.

There’s the obvious reason, apartments are more affordable than big houses with backyards that require constant maintenance. But there are also a variety of other attractive factors. For example, apartments are often conveniently located near key infrastructure, transport, shops and restaurants, and many developments have on-site amenities to complement the residences.

Best of all, apartment developments are becoming increasingly community focused and one developer is taking this concept up a notch.

Frasers Property Australia is delivering a unique and innovative community precinct in Sydney’s fast-growing south-west. The development, Ed.Square, not only offers intelligently designed homes with sustainable features, but it also includes a variety of homes for every type of buyer — from a range of apartments to the newly released collection of 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom townhouses within the Chelsea Pocket release.

We spoke to first-time buyer, Ruksanah Sagvand, who thought she would never be in a position where she could afford to buy her own place, much less a 1 bedroom townhome.

“A ten per cent deposit was a goal I just didn’t think I could achieve,” she says. “But Frasers Property told me that, as a first home buyer, they could offer me a five per cent deposit. I went home that day so excited, thinking ‘yes! It’s done!’”

Ruksanah grew up in the western suburbs and all of her family and friends are located there. Despite that, she was willing to move away to experience the inner-city lifestyle and have the type of amenity she was seeking in close proximity to home.

“When I saw what was going on at Ed.Square, I realised I didn’t need to move far away from my family to have the lifestyle I wanted,” she explains. “Ed.Square has its own unique vibe.”

She’s right. Located in the heart of Edmondson Park, Ed.Square is set to become its own distinct community. The masterplanned precinct, positioned adjacent to the Edmondson Park train station, has its own Town Centre, featuring 40,000 square metres of lifestyle and retail amenity.

Ed.Square Town Centre will become the gathering place for those who live in the area. There is a water play area for the kids, parents can relax and enjoy the ambient sounds of live music playing in the Town Square, and busy professionals on the go can pick up their groceries at the full-line Coles or in the fresh food market place.

From its own Eat Street, filled with buzzing restaurants, cafés, eateries, and a tavern, to the on-site Central Park, Ed.Square will be a vibrant and thriving place for both residents and the local community alike.

“Buying off the plan wasn’t an issue for me,” Ruksanah says. “I did have other people telling me to think it through but knowing Frasers has been in the business for a long time, that gave me the confidence to buy an off the plan property.”
