Ed.Square proves the perfect fit for working couple
Southern Highlands residents secure their future in south-west Sydney.
Carole Pedemont used to see the billboard from the train on the way in to work every morning: “Ed is coming”.
“I had no idea what it was, so I looked it up. Then someone at work started talking about having just purchased nearby and how good it was, so I did more research and liked it straight away.”
She and husband Allan Cox recently purchased a two-bedroom apartment in Ed.Square. While they’re both still working as guards for Sydney Trains, the apartment will be a weeknight crash pad for the pair. They then plan to live in it permanently after retirement.
Carole says everything about Ed.Square is appealing.
“It’s got everything – we would be living in a beautiful apartment, and then just downstairs there are eateries
and parklands,” she says.
“There is also a train station literally across the road from us – it perfectly fit what we were looking for.
“I’m the sort of person who looks at every real estate website, every house sold. If there are new developments anywhere I research them, and I’ve done that for many years just out of personal interest.
“Ed.Square was exactly what we were looking for.”
The pair currently live in the Southern Highlands with their two children, 17 and 19. Carole said Ed.Square is a perfect retirement plan for them, while using the family home as a place to get away on weekends.
Adjacent to Edmondson Park train station, Ed.Square will comprise over six hectares of open space and a variety of home styles and floorplans across 992 apartments and 892 terraces and townhouses. A 68-metre high residential tower atop the town centre is set to become an architectural landmark, the epicentre from which the village will expand into the streets and laneways that will flow into parks and bushland.
There will be a shopping, dining and entertainment precinct, which will include an Eat Street, fresh food market place, cinema, childcare centre, 24-hour gym, tavern and healthcare facilities. The first Ed.Square residents are expected to move into their homes in the second half of 2020, which will coincide with the completion of the first stage of the town centre.
Ed.Square will be serviced by convenient bus and train links to Parramatta and Sydney CBD, along with easy access to Sydney’s main roads. Liverpool is just three train stops away from Edmondson Park train station and Sydney’s future second airport at Badgerys Creek will be close by.
