Brookhaven Weather Preparedness Workshop: A Successful Collaboration with Logan City Council
We recently partnered with Logan City Council to deliver a free Weather Preparedness Workshop for our Brookhaven residents, especially those who are experiencing their first summer storm season in their new homes. The event was a fantastic opportunity for residents to learn important tips and tools for staying safe during adverse weather conditions.
The evening kicked off with a friendly meet-and-greet over a delicious catered dinner, generously provided by Logan City Council. The warm and welcoming atmosphere set the tone for the event, with residents exchanging contact details and discussing the positive neighbourly connections they’ve made since moving into Brookhaven.
During the workshop, Logan City Council shared valuable advice on how to prepare for summer storms, including practical steps to protect your home and family. One of the key highlights was the introduction of the Logan Early Warning app, a tool designed to keep residents informed of weather warnings in real-time. Attendees were encouraged to download the app and share it with their neighbours, ensuring everyone stays prepared and safe.
Key Takeaways:
- Be community-minded:
Get to know your neighbours year-round so you can help each other when needed. - Personal responsibility:
It’s up to each of us to keep our families and homes safe during storm season. - Be a Community Champion:
Share the Logan Early Warning app with at least three people, and encourage them to spread the word throughout the community.
We are excited to continue our partnership with Logan City Council to build a safer, more resilient community here at Brookhaven. Together, we can ensure that we’re all ready for whatever the summer storm season brings.
