Unleashing the plan for Brookhaven's upcoming Dog Park and Recreation Area

We’re thrilled to announce the latest plans for Brookhaven’s new recreation corridor, set to open mid-2025. Featuring a range of spaces for everyone to enjoy—including Barkhaven, Brookhaven’s dedicated dog park—this highly anticipated addition will also include a toddler playground, multi-use walking trails, and so much more.

What’s coming to Brookhaven

The design is now confirmed, and there are plenty of exciting features to look forward to:

• Barkhaven Dog Park: A dedicated space for furry friends, complete with shelters, seating, minor lighting, and unique natural elements like sandstone boulders for play and rest.
• Playground: A toddler-focused play area featuring a swing set, slide, playground, and a sensory music panel.
• Bridge: A charming crossing that enhances connectivity within the corridor.
• Multi-use Walking Trails: Scenic trails weaving through the corridor, perfect for walking, jogging, and connecting with nature.
• Planting and Revegetation: Extensive landscaping and ecological restoration to beautify the area and support local biodiversity.

What’s the schedule?

The project is advancing steadily, with works planned in stages:

1. Earthworks: Preparing the site for construction.
2. Waterway Formation and Revegetation Planting: Shaping the area and establishing greenery to enhance the natural environment.
3. Bio Basin: Adding sustainable water management systems.
4. Dog Park, Toddler Playground, and Bridge Crossing: Installing the key features to bring this space to life.
