Town Centre approved for The Grove
Town centre at The Grove to include more than 20 stores, cafes and services.
Woolworths will be the anchoring tenant at a new shopping centre at Frasers Property Australia’s The Grove community in Tarneit in Melbourne’s west.
The Grove retail centre will comprise two sections divided by Bethany Rd and linked by a pedestrian crossing and reserve.
The retail precinct will feature a full-line 4,000sqm Woolworths and more than 20 retail outlets across a further 4,000sqm including bakery, greengrocer, nail bar, pizza restaurant, Chemist Warehouse and Anytime Fitness.
Facing the retail precinct across Bethany Rd will be a learn-to-swim school with 25m pool, Hungry Jacks, service station and car wash.
There will be 260 car spaces for the retail precinct, and a further 60 spaces servicing the swim school and adjacent tenants. Ensuring convenient connections, bus stops on either side of Bethany Rd will link through to Tarneit and Werribee railway stations.
Construction is set to begin in mid-2024 and is expected to take two years to complete.
Sarah Bloom, General Manager Development Victoria, Frasers Property says with a range of communities and facilities at The Grove already complete, the new retail centre will be the final jewel in the community’s crown.
“The Grove residents already enjoy easy access to schools, parks, playgrounds and wetlands within their community, and now that final piece of the convenience puzzle will slot in,” she said.
Empire Properties will develop, construct and manage the new shopping centre on the adjacent site it purchased from Frasers Property in 2020.
Empire Properties founder Tony Masalkovski said The Grove retail precinct will be a striking addition to the shopping options in the area.
“We know the residents of The Grove have been eagerly awaiting their new shopping destionation, and we’re excited to get started on delivering what will be the heart of this great community,” he said.
Nestled between the Werribee River and Davis Creek, The Grove is a 167 ha community which will eventually be home to 2600 families. More than 1600 people already call The Grove home.
A mix of land, house-and-land packages and townhomes are available within the community, which is already well over 75 percent sold.
Many of the community’s parks, bike paths, playgrounds and wetlands are already complete, including 7ha of waterways. The new Karwan Primary School opened for first term this year and Brinbeal Secondary College is on track to open for first term next year.
Life by the river just keeps getting better.
