Construction Update

The Peninsula (Stage 9)

We are excited to share the latest developments on The Peninsula (Stage 9) at Port Coogee, a premium coastal precinct set to become one of the most prestigious areas within the community.

Key Highlights:

Exciting progress is underway at The Peninsula, our latest premium land release at Port Coogee. Civil contractors are making excellent headway in delivering the 23 sought-after lots within this release.

The bulk earthworks phase has been successfully completed, laying the foundation for the next stages of development. Work on critical infrastructure—including the deep sewer, stormwater drainage systems, and retaining walls—is now in full swing, ensuring the lots are built to the highest standards of functionality and durability.

In the coming weeks, contractors will shift focus to road surfacing, with the laying of asphalt scheduled to begin soon. This marks a significant milestone in the project, as the roads start to take shape, creating clear connectivity within the development.

Beyond the core land release, the landscaping design for the nearby Waterfront Park and Southern Foreshore is progressing well. These areas will enhance the natural beauty of the precinct and provide thoughtfully designed spaces for outdoor recreation and relaxation. They’re integral to our vision of creating a vibrant, community-focused environment where residents can enjoy the best of coastal living.

General Construction Update

Waterfront Park
The waterfront park, located to the North of the Peninsula is currently in the final stages of design and will deliver expansive green space and picnic areas to the community. We will update you with timings for completion, once construction commences.

Tavern Site
This is in the Design Phase and we will share more information from the owners once this has been finalised.

Omeo Park Toilet
The City of Cockburn have awarded the works to the contractor, Pennant Construction. Site establishment has commenced with completion anticipated by the end of June 2025.

Community News

In a great demonstration of an empowered community - well done (again) to the PCCA events team who delivered another great Music in the Park event on Sunday November 17th in Coromandel Park for local residents. It's all about bringing community together in common spaces and building capacity of the community to deliver these events independently. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon and the Flamenco Guitarist, Blackbird Duo and Sparkles the Face painter all worked together with the resident volunteers to deliver a great event. Friday December 6 -  Port Coogee Community Christmas Festival 2024 ‘Not to be missed’!

Time: 4.30 – 8.30pm
Location: Chieftain Esplanade/Pantheon Avenue Join us for the 2024 Port Coogee Christmas Festival!
Making the most of the iconic marina location, we will host this fabulous community celebration along Chieftain Esplanade to mark the end of another year of amazing sunsets! This will be a Christmas celebration to remember in partnership with the Port Coogee Community Association and proud support from the City of Cockburn!  And the best part...ENTRY IS FREE!
You will find: Entertainment from Godleman Duo, featuring Ali Hill, Santa arrival on the marina, Festive markets, Food trucks, Animal farm, Face painting, Circus skills and more!

Saturday December 21 - Christmas 10K Swim 

Port Coogee proudly sponsors “WA’s best 10Km Rottnest qualifier and popular festive community swim”. Entries for the extravaganza that is the Christmas 10K 🎅☀️🎄are opening Friday 25 October.  It's a cracker of a swim run by swimmers, for swimmers. The event again offers something for everyone, with 3 different race distances to choose from:10km, 3.4km and 1600m in the pristine waters of beautiful Coogee Beach. Register now!
