Stage 7D Chieftain Esplanade and Calypso Parade Works & Traffic Modifications

The works along Chieftain Esplanade and Calypso Parade are progressing well. The concrete base for these future roads has been laid and the cobble stone crew are progressing well with the installation of the cobble stones. It is quite a delicate process with each crew member only able to lay a total of ~2.5 sqm / day.

Installation of electrical and drainage works continue to be delivered on schedule and the first landscaping works are anticipated to commence in October, which will commence with the delivery and construction of key reticulation lines. All works are still on track to be completed by the end of March 2023.

Port Coogee Sales Centre

The sales centre is nearing completion with only minor items currently being finalised. Furniture from Coco Republic has been delivered and marketing collateral installed including signage to the exterior. Window furnishings have been hung. Additional planting has been included into the landscaping and the periphery fencing has now been removed. The sales centre includes separate toilet facilities and a water bowl for your four-legged friends. We aim to be opening the sales office to the public in the near future.

Sustainable September

The first ‘Port Coogee Sustainable September’ was an active month of environmental and community initiatives at Port Coogee. In partnership with Port Coogee Community Association, the City of Cockburn, Port Coogee Marina and Frasers Property Australia, it was a collaborative effort to encourage a month-long calendar of sustainable living practices for the local community.

Lots of events including a Meat Free Monday recipe competition, a Little Library Swap at the shopping centre, a seasonal Clothes Swap, a Kids Toy and Clothes Swap, a Beach Clean-up, a Soil Microbe presentation at the Coogee Community Garden, documentary screenings on A Plastic Ocean and WA Wildlife Rescue were also popular. It was really heartening to have so many local businesses get involved with their own offerings as well.

PCCA (Port Coogee Community Association) also announced the year round ‘Pick One Up for Port Coogee’ waste campaign. Remember, just one piece of rubbish can make a difference!

Thank you to all those who supported Sustainable September.
