Port Coogee Community Christmas Festival 2022
With an estimated crowd of 6,000 through the event, the Port Coogee community celebrated Christmas in true West Aussie coastal style!
We opened the food trucks half an hour earlier this year to give the Regis Aged Care residents easy access which was much appreciated. Big thank you to the Port Coogee Community Association who contributed a grant for face painting, Ranger Red, Choir and more. They also had their GIANT Raffle with $1000 worth of donations from all the local businesses, this raffle sold out and raised much-needed funds for the Coogee Beach Surf Life Saving Club!
Santa, of course, arrived on the boat with Marina Manager Samantha Standish and Port Coogee’s Community Development Manager, Michelle Mrzyglocki! With two music stages, 17 food trucks, Santa's workshop, loads of market stalls and the newly opened Coogee Boathouse, the event site was heaving with happy patrons. Somewhere in the mix, Santa was even singing 'brown-eyed girl' with the band!!
The Frasers Property team was accompanied by Elyse Ainsworth and her sailing boat whom we sponsor on her pathway to the Paris Olympics in July 2024.
The evening would not be complete without an encore of the 12 days of Christmas from the balconies of Marina Edge Apartments. It was as hilarious as the first year, especially with all the creative 'improvements' - the photos say it all!! A lovely touch was the red ribbons that appeared everywhere throughout the event, in the trees and on the food trucks in tribute to Denise Mitchell, a huge community contributor to Port Coogee who sadly passed away.
Our Stand-Up Paddleboard Package (valued at $1,250) competition was drawn - congratulations to the winner Kara T. We hope you enjoy the hot summer to come, and we’ll keep an eye out for you paddling past. Thank you to everyone who entered the competition whilst attending this year’s amazing Port Coogee Christmas Festival – it was a stunning night made better with you there!
