Quarterly Update - March 2025
Dear residents and community members,
It’s already been an action-packed start to the year at Mambourin, with the opening of the Good News Lutheran College and Aspire Childcare.
Nearby, work on the town centre is moving ahead quickly, with the roof of the future Mambourin Marketplace shopping centre now 70% complete and individual retailers set to begin their shop fit outs over the next few months ahead of the centre opening in Q3 this year.
Mambourin Marketplace will include a full line Coles supermarket, fresh food and dining offerings.
The neighbouring 7-Eleven convenience store and petrol station is already open for business and construction of the KFC restaurant on Black Forest Road has commenced and is due for completion by mid-year.
Delama Blvd and the first Medium Density Stages have now titled, enabling town home construction to commence in the coming months.
As we welcome more families to Mambourin, there is a full program of activities and events designed to forge connections and friendships.
Our first Beginners Running Course is almost complete with up to 39 people attending each week at Laa Yulta Primary School. These sessions were designed with beginners in mind and to help people get off the coach and get active. We hope to run them again if there is demand.
We supported Mambourin’s second community-led Bolly Mambo Holi event on March 16 outside Club Mambourin. With colour, food, music and more, the community really came out to share in the fun of the Holi festival.
School holidays are coming up with lots of fun in store. Club Mambourin has some great sports-based activations in week one and we will also be hosting Carim the Bike Repairer’s bicycle repair pop-up outside of Club Mambourin on Friday, April 11.
Also on Friday, April 11, our Movie Night Under the Stars will be held at Laa Yulta Primary School oval with a screening of Paddington in Peru. Registrations are required but it is open to all. Food trucks will be in attendance and BYO chairs and picnic blankets.
Club Mambourin’s Easter Event on Saturday, April 12 will fill out a busy week for members.
In week two of the school holidays, Wyndham City will be running two Mini Movers sessions at Shillings Road Park at 12pm and 12.30pm on Tuesday, April 15. These are open to the public.
The Bush Bus and Mini Movers will return in Term Two with Bush Bus to be held Tuesdays from 10.30am at Mambourin Discovery Centre, and Mini Movers back at its original time of Thursdays from 11am.
The autumn calendar will wind up with the final Food Truck Friday of the year to be held from 5pm on May 9 before breaking for winter.
You can find out which food vendor is coming, and about other events here on the Mambourin Facebook page.
Work on the Ison Road Extension has begun, with excavation for the road’s foundation. The extension will connect to the Ison Road Overpass which is already underway, with the first layer of asphalt laid and concrete for the walking and cycling paths under and along the road poured. The extension, a State Government and Wyndham City Council project, is a 1.3km, four lane road between the new overpass and the Geelong Road freeway interchange at Werribee due for completion in 2026.
As usual we will continue to update residents via email and keep the community engaged via Facebook. If you live outside Mambourin but would like to receive updates by email, please sign up at www.frasersproperty.com.au/VIC/Mambourin/Contact or contact us on 13 38 38.
We hope to see you at one of our upcoming community events soon.
