Following catastrophic fires over summer, drought-breaking floods and the travel restrictions due to COVID-19 there has never been a more important time to visit – and support – the South Coast.

The region has been all but closed for the best part of 2020 and as the weather starts to warm up again, now is the perfect time to give back to local businesses who need your help more than ever. 

Here is a list of amazing camp sites in around Shell Cove, whether you’re a resident looking to escape for a weekend or heading to Shellharbour for an overnight stay, here are our picks of places to stay…

Backyard… 

Killalea State Park

This is arguably a camping experience in your backyard for anyone in the Shellharbour region, however, for those coming to town for the night or the weekend, this space is a must. 

With a choice of large camping and caravan sites or a bunkhouse for large groups the beauty – and seclusion – of this site is unparalleled.

To the south… 

Kiama

If you’re looking for somewhere close (especially with kids) the BIG4 Easts Beach Holiday Park is an ideal spot just minutes down the highway.

Currarong

Just over one hour south of Shell Cove is the turquoise waters and breathtaking cliff tops of Currarong.

The Jervis Bay Marine Park is famous for whales and dolphins and there are several options that will see you get up close and personal with these incredible creatures be it from above sea level with a tour operator, or below with snorkel and scuba operators or grab a SUP and go explore!
