Internal Carcasses

Carcasses should be cleaned with a clean damp cloth. If heavily soiled, clean with warm soapy water. We do not recommend the use of excess amounts of water on surfaces or abrasive chemical agents.

Internal Hinges

Check, tighten and adjust hinges every 6 months. Do not apply oil or grease to any joinery hardware such as hinges. Hinges can be cleaned and maintained by cleaning with a dry polishing cloth .We do not recommend the use of chemical cleaning agents.

Drawer Runners

Runners can be cleaned and maintained by cleaning with a dry polishing cloth. We do not recommend the use of chemical cleaning agent. Do not apply oil or grease to any joinery hardware such as runners.

Handles

Can Handles should be cleaned at regular’s intervals with a soft ‘grit-free’ cloth, clean soapy water and wiped dry. Warning: Do not use a sourcing pad of any type as this will cause excessive wear on the plated finish

Doors and Planels in Melamine Finish

Clean up any spills as quickly as possible and rinse well with clean water esuring the doors are not exposed to high or continuous levels of moisture, steam and humidity. Excessive amounts of cleaning fluid or water should not be applied to melamine surface to ensure the board does not absorb excessive fluid.
Remove soiled surfaces or light stains with mild detergent such as dishwashing liquid and a damp sponge or a non-abrasive spray and wipe cleaning agent such as windex. Always ensure that you refer to the recommendations provided by the cleaning product manufacturer before use. Over use of chemical cleaners or failure to rinse remaining residue will eventually cause an unsightly build up on the finish. In order to ensure that your warranty will not be void, do not use scourers, or abrasive pads, acids and alkalis, solvents, thinners, turpentine, ammonia, bleach, acetone or alkaline. If repairing severe cuts or scratches, use a wax stick of matching colour; noting scratches are not covered under warranty.

Kickboards

All kickboards have the same finish as doors. Kickboards should be cleaned with a clean damp cloth. If heavily soiled, clean with warm soapy water. We do not recommend the use of excess amounts of water on sruface or abarasive chemical agents.

  • Avoid Abrasive Materials, use only a damp sponge or soft cloth. Never use an abrasive material such as a bristle brush or scouring pad to clean metal or glass surfaces.
  • Regular Cleaning should be undertaken to maintain new condition. Use only ph neutral warm mild soapy water to wash down complete screen. Wipe all surfaces clean using a damp soft cloth, sponge or equivalent.
  • Rinse all surfaces thoroughly with clean water ensuring all cleaning solution has been removed and no residue remains. Remember to wipe down and dry your shower screen.
  • Maintain a dry ventilated bathroom at all times.
  • Never use cleaners containing abrasives, ammonia, bleach, acids, waxes, alcohol or solvents as they may damage the finish. Use of harsh cleaning agents may void warranty obligations. By following the information in this guide, you will derive many years of enjoyment from your Shower Screen.
Glazing & Frosted Glass

Use only cleaning material free of grit and grime to avoid scratching and marking of glass surface.
Use only detergents and cleaning solutions, which are recommended glass cleaners. Mild detergents are preferable. Extra care is necessary where glass is installed. The surface can be susceptible to stains and scratches and therefore, requires vigilance during regular cleaning. Extra care is also necessary where toughened glass is installed as identified by glass stamp in bottom corner of the windows. The non-printed side of this glass can be susceptible to stains and scratches and, therefore requires vigilance while cleaning.

Powdercoat Finish

The best method of cleaning is bby ergular washing of the coating using a solution of war water and non-abrasive, pH netural detergent solutions. Surfaces should be thoroughly rinsed after cleaning to remove all residues. All surface should be cleaned using a soft cloth or sponge or a soft natural bristle brush. It is recommended to have maintenance every 6 months and to keep sliding window tracks clean from dirt and debris on a regular basis.

Colorbond Finish

Simple maintenance of COLORBOND® steel and ZINCALUME® steel by regular washing with water, will not only enhance its life but maintain its attractiveness for longer periods thus protecting your asset. Applications where the paint finish is automatically washed by rainwater do not usually require this Maintenance. Areas not regularly washed by rainwater should be hosed down at least every six months and more frequently in areas where high levels of industrial fallout occur. In cases where the regular maintenance referred to above does not remove all dirt which may have adhered to the surface of the paint, the following procedure should be carried out:

  • Wash the surface with a mild solution of pure soap or mild non-abrasive kitchen detergent in warm water.
  • Application should be with a sponge, soft cloth or soft bristle nylon brush, and should be gentle to prevent shiny spots.
  • The COLORBOND® steel and ZINCALUME® steel should be thoroughly rinsed with clean water immediately after cleaning to remove traces of detergent.

Never use abrasive or solvent type cleaners (turps, petrol, kerosene, paint thinners) on COLORBOND® steel and ZINCALUME® steel. If cared for in accordance with these instructions, your building components made from COLORBOND® prepainted steel and ZINCALUME® steel will give many years of low maintenance life.

Skyspan Skylights require periodic maintenance to ensure satisfactory service life. Periodic maintenance is the responsibility of the owner or the occupier. The following points are a guideline for maintenance of skylights. The skylights and its components should be maintained to ensure safe and trouble-free operation for the life of the unit.

The glass should not be cleaned in a 'dry' state. Always wet the glass before any cloth, paper or towel is used. An approved glass cleaning blade should be used to remove debris after first soaking the debris. Scouring gels, foams or abrasive pads must not be used on any glass surface.

The glass should be cleaned using any of the following:
(a) 'Clear' cleaning liquids.
(b) 'Natural' cleaning liquids such as water with lemon or vinegar.
(c) Mild soapy water.

Polymer surface should be washed with mild soap or detergent and lukewarm water solution using a clean soft cloth or sponge and as much solution as possible. The surface should then be rinsed well and dried by blotting with a damp cloth or chamois. Rubbing a dirty surface with a dry cloth will scratch the polymer. Cleaning must not be done in hot sun or while surface is hot. Cleaning the polymer surface should not be done using window cleaning fluids, scouring compounds, abrasive products and aggressive solvents like leaded or ethyl gasoline, benzene, acetone, carbon tetrachloride, fire extinguisher or de-icing fluid and lacquer thinners to clean a polymer material. Kerosene, or other aliphatic hydrocarbon compound should be used to remove tar, grease paint, etc. If after washing the polymer surface shows minor scratches, apply a thin even coat of a good-grade automobile paste wax with a soft clean cloth to protect the surface of the polymer and maintain its lustre. Buff lightly with clean cotton, flannel or chamois. These coatings may be used to prevent the accumulation of electrostatic charge by applying a micro-thin layer of protectan.

For wall coatings or ceiling coatings that are flat finishes do not use rough abrasives or solvent cleaners, stiff scrubbing brushes or harsh caustic preparations. Instead, use warm water with a small amount of mild detergent.

  • Apply the solution to the affected area with a soft cloth, where the marking is particularly stubborn.
  • Having thoroughly cleaned the affected area, you should then proceed to wash down the whole wall or ceiling to eliminate any chance of patchiness.
  • Finally, rinse off the washed area with clean water and allow to dry. Avoid vigorous scrubbing with chemicals or brushes and scourers to prevent burnishing the surfaces and causing shiny patches.
  • Don’t use abrasives or caustic-based cleaning compounds.
  • We recommend washing your walls every two years to maintain the life of the paint.
