Community News

Port Coogee Christmas Festival

This vibrant community continues to thrive and now that the warmer months are returning we are happy to share some of the upcoming events and review those that took place this month. This includes:

Port Coogee Community Association News – AGM October 17

Congratulations to the committee on another successful year! The AGM was held at Regis Port Coogee with terrific attendance. An update from all the committee demonstrated just how much they are continuing to achieve year on year on security, environment, community advocacy and the Port Coogee name change just to mention a few!

Many hands make light work so why not reach out and get involved with the today! For more information email contactus@portcoogeeca.com.au  or visit the Facebook page.

PCCA New Events Sub-Committee

A new PCCA initiative is an ‘Events Subcommittee’. This is an opportunity for the community to volunteer and participate in fun initiatives and short term projects that can work in with a busy life.

The first meeting is: Monday October 30, 5.30pm at the Port Coogee sales centre.

If you’d like to find out more, the Frasers Property and City of Cockburn community teams are jointly supporting this initiative E: communityWA@frasersproperty.com.au

The Daily Grind

This is an amazing initiative being driven by the family of former WAFL and AFL umpire Mike Ball, who lost his battle with Alzheimer’s Disease on 11 December 2021, at just 66 years of age.  The aim of the daily grind campaign is to raise funds to support people living with dementia and their loved ones. Mike's son, Jamie, will lead the daily grind campaign from the 28th of November (Mike's birthday) until the 11th of December (Mike's passing) when he runs an average of over 50kms a day from Albany to Port Coogee in memory of his Dad, and to raise funds and awareness for The Dementia Support Network of WA.

Find out how to participate visit their website here  or their Facebook page here.
