A new community is building at Midtown MacPark as Metro rail line to CBD nears completion
- First residents make immediate connections at groundbreaking new community
- Fully furnished display apartments available for inspection, ready to move in
- Prime location on Metro North West line good news for buyers
- New Soul and MAC Residences buyers receive a rebate for up to two years’ worth of strata levies
From gardening groups to beehive workshops, neighbourhood walks and welcome parties, the community development and placemaking program at Frasers Property Australia’s Midtown MacPark is already in full swing as the community’s first residents settle into their new apartments and begin to forge neighbourly connections.
Those residents are also set to enjoy some of Sydney’s best transport connections, with Midtown MacPark just a 500m walk from Macquarie University station on the Metro North-West line, which already provides easy access to the CBD with a change at Chatswood.
From 4th August, when the Metro rail line to the CBD is complete, commuters will be able to travel directly from Macquarie University station to Central in 20 minutes without changing trains.
Properties that are strategically located close to the Metro are great for residents and investors alike, with research by CBRE and PropTrack revealing the capital value of apartments in good proximity to the new Metro lines outperformed equivalent apartments by five per cent over the past decade. The opening of the next stage this year is expected to cement that performance.1
Research also found 45 per cent of residents living near the Metro stations were Gen Z and Gen Y, with that younger demographic resulting in a vibrant hospitality sector. Precincts near the Metro lines have an average of 36 cafes and hospitality venues per 10,000 residents, compared to 17 per 10,000 residents in suburbs further away. 2
The groundbreaking mixed-use master-planned community, Midtown MacPark, has already delivered 765 apartments and four terrace homes across Stage One including the Soul and MAC Residences buildings, with a further 162 to be delivered in the Treehouse building, due for completion in 2026.
So far, approximately 1,400 residents have moved into their new homes within Soul and MAC, enjoying amenities such as the communal bush tucker garden, social enterprise café and walking paths. A small number of apartments in Soul and MAC remain available, and buyers can now move into a brand-new apartment in an established community with this amenity already in place.
Prospective buyers who want to get a taste of Midtown MacPark can inspect three fully-furnished display apartments. There are two one-bedroom apartments and one two-bedroom, two bathroom plus study apartment available to walk through.
Frasers Property Australia Development Director Scott Clohessy said a quickly building sense of community is now evident at Midtown.
“We have a full calendar of community events already in place, from kids’ gardening workshops and neighbourhood walks to fortnightly barbecues and bee workshops to take advantage of our six hives,” he said. “It means all new residents will have a ready-made way to make friends for themselves and their kids.”
As the community grows, so does the level of convenience on offer for residents.
Later this year, a Montessori Academy childcare centre for 75 children within MAC Residences will become the first of two childcare centres within the community. And the NSW Government will build a 750-student primary school within Midtown MacPark to add to the educational opportunities and convenience for families.
Midtown MacPark is designed for 100% walkability, with cafes, restaurants and beauty offerings in close proximity, a car share scheme for times when driving is necessary, and extensive bike parking and paths.
