Winter is the season Allendale earns its membership. The heated pool, the gym, the sports court, the café, the function rooms. All the rooms that quietly come into their own when the backyard turns into a wind tunnel and the kids start bouncing off the walls. Allendale isn't a summer-only space. June is one of the months it works hardest.

This National Reconciliation Week, we pause to reflect. From 27 May to 3 June, Australians come together to honour the shared histories, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and to consider the role each of us plays in building a more reconciled future. Five Farms sits on the traditional lands of the Bunurong people. Our local secondary school carries the name Birranga, meaning feathertail glider in Boonwurrung language, chosen through consultation with Traditional Owners. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
