  • Construction to commence in September 2022
  • Enrolments will start in Term 4 2023
  • $5 million in funding received from Non-Government Schools Capital Fund

A new private primary school has been confirmed for Frasers Property Australia’s new Five Farms community in Melbourne’s burgeoning south-east corridor.
St Josephine Bakhita Catholic Primary School in Five Farms, Clyde North, is one of 34 school projects across Victoria to share the $70 million under round three of the Non-Government Schools Capital Fund.

The school will receive $5 million in funding, which will cover the construction of an administration building, a teaching and learning centre comprising 10 general learning areas, and other associated spaces.

City of Casey Chair of Administrators, Noelene Duff PSM congratulates all parties involved and welcomes the investment into education in this vibrant growth area.

“The school will bring many benefits to the community of Clyde North and nearby areas, giving residents additional opportunities amongst a growing and diverse range of possibilities for their children.”

Sarah Bloom, General Manager Development Victoria, Frasers Property Australia says, “The new school will be an integral part of the growing community and will bring world class education facilities to Five Farms for years to come.

“It is a great addition to the area, especially for young families who have chosen to make Five Farms their home. We look forward to delivering this important amenity in the 2024 school year,” Ms Bloom says.

Maria Kirkwood, Director of Catholic Education for the Diocese of Sale says, “A new Catholic primary school is needed in Clyde North to cater for families in the area seeking high quality and affordable Catholic education.

“Our vision for St Josephine Bakhita Primary School is to provide a welcoming, faith-filled environment that will enable students to achieve their personal best,” says Ms Kirkwood.

Construction of St Josephine Bakhita Catholic Primary School will start in September 2022 and first term is expected to commence in 2024. The school will begin enrolments in term 4, 2023. It will accommodate 700 students at full enrolment. Upon completion, the school will include an art room, sporting oval and multi-use outdoor sports courts.

Five Farms is a masterplanned community in Clyde North. It is located approximately 45 kilometres southeast of Melbourne CBD and nine kilometres from the Monash Freeway. The new community complements Frasers Property’s existing Berwick Waters community in Melbourne’s key south-east growth corridor.

When complete, Five Farms will comprise approximately 1,600 homes. Residents will enjoy walkable access to schools, childcare, a local town centre, exclusive residents’ club, parklands, and nearby access to public transport including trains and buses.
