Five Foodie Faves for Winter Waterfront Dining

31 July 2023

Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean you have to stay home! There are always plenty of great local dining out options to choose from, whether you’re looking for a feed for the family, a casual lunch with friends or a special date night out. And when you live in such fantastic location as we do, why wouldn’t you check out the range of waterfront cafes, restaurants and pubs nearby? Winter dining by the waterfront can be a magical thing – especially when there’s a fireplace involved!
We’ve put together these five spots for you to try – or try again. They all offer something a little different, depending on what kind of experience you’re after, but they have one thing in common - they offer wonderful water views of either of the river, the estuary or marina. So rug up and get out there for a feast on our fabulous waterfronts!

1. Jetty’s Bar and Grill
A local favourite on the Murray River in South Yunderup. Jetty’s has been consistently serving up delicious meals, cold beers and beautiful views for many years, so follow the locals – by car, foot or boat! - and find out what makes the place so special. They offer a wide menu of popular family favourites, including a special kids menu.

2. Restaurant Café Coast
Located within the Port Bouvard Marina, Restaurant Cafe Coast won the Trip Advisor Travellers Choice Award in 2021. Along with the beautiful estuary views, it offers casual dining with an extensive menu that includes plenty of fresh local seafood, a kids menu and a comprehensive drinks list – and they have a fireplace! They’re open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

3. Stagedoor Waterfront Restaurant
Mandurah’s much-loved Stage Door is located in the heart of the city at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre, so it’s ideal for pre-show meals and drinks. Overlooking Mandjar Bay, it offers stunning floor-to-ceiling water views from the inside, and on fine days, alfresco dining on the boardwalk. Choose from a range of share plates, daily food and drink specials, an al a carte menu, cocktails, and coffee and cake. Oh, and it’s dog friendly too!

4. The Ravenswood Hotel
‘The Ravo’ has a long history in the Peel Region, and is well known among locals and visitors alike for its famous pub meals, cold beer and stunning location on the banks of the Murray River. It’s a huge drawcard in the warmer months but has its own special charm in winter, with a cosy fire in the Lounge Bar. The menu has something for everyone, from steaks, burgers and pizza to share plates.

5. Redmanna
With fantastic views like this it’s easy to see why this is one of Mandurah’s most popular restaurants. On the water’s edge of the eastern foreshore near the Old Bridge, Redmanna is a modern restaurant with views along Mandjar Bay between the Peel Estuary and the Indian Ocean. It’s a great spot for a special occasion meal or enjoy lunch while you enjoy the passing parade of boats and dolphins.
