Shell Cove Construction Update - The Peninsula
Peninsula Aerial
Welcome to the latest Construction Update.
We’re pleased to keep you informed about how the project is progressing, give you insights into the construction process and ensure you’re up to date with the development of your new community.
A key milestone for The Peninsula development is underway with the final sealing of the roads currently being undertaken, which includes the asphalt wearing course. Once the roads are complete the contractor will focus on topsoil spreading over the allotments as well as completing the footpath and verge areas.
Landscaping works will commence in the next few weeks and will focus on planting the area between the Boollwarroo Parade extension and the Shellharbour South beach dune area.
Regarding services, the potable water system is fully operational and has passed Sydney Water's final disinfection process. However, the sewer construction has faced delays due to heavy rainfall, resulting in high groundwater levels that have slowed down trenching and construction progress. Despite these challenges, the contractor is nearing completion, with only approximately 60 metres left to construct.
The electrical contractor has finished the electrical reticulation and street lighting, with applications submitted to Endeavour Energy for the necessary certificates. Additionally, the NBN communications and gas installation are almost finished and expected completion is early May.
As we near completion, our focus shifts to obtaining practical completion certificates from authorities and finalising plans and testing for submission to the Council as part of the subdivision certificate process.
Settlement Update
Settlements are forecasted for late June 2024.
