Central Park
The neighbourhood that reshaped Sydney’s skyline
Fifteen years ago, a former brewery on Sydney's Broadway had fallen into disrepair, a forgotten relic of Chippendale's rich history. Fast forward to today and it's a thriving community and one of the city's most recognisable and iconic addresses - Central Park Sydney.
Central Park occupies 5.8 hectares on the former Carlton and United Brewery on Broadway. The $2 billion urban development comprises of residential, student living, a multi-level shopping centre, commercial office space, child-care facilities and multiple hotels, plus the beautiful Chippendale Green in the heart of it all.
About Central Park
A legacy lives on
Much of Central Park's focus on walkability, diversity of use, lifestyle and aesthetics have been transplanted into the design of two other Frasers Property projects in Sydney, Ed.Square and Midtown MacPark, bringing inner-city edge and contemporary cool to the suburbs. Continuing Frasers Property's relationship to the renewal of Sydney's forgotten spaces, the company will also develop, in collaboration with Dexus, the city's new tech precinct, Central Place Sydney - just down the street from Central Park.
Sydney's must-visit downtown destination
Stepping onto the grounds of Central Park Sydney today, it's hard to believe that a mere decade ago this was a derelict site on one of Sydney's busiest streets. Day and night, Spice Alley is full of diners enjoying the best of Asian street cuisine. Shoppers and cinema-goers stream in and out of Central Park Mall's jungled interior, while sun-kissed residents laze on the manicured lawns of Chippendale Green. Central Park Sydney is a meeting place that manages to feel both exciting and idyllic in equal measure.
Awards
Proudly developed by Frasers Property Australia and Sekisui House, and with the support of a global collaboration of architects and artists, the vision to create a self-contained neighbourhood where people can live, learn, work, shop, dine and relax together has seen Central Park Sydney become the most awarded mixed-use development in the country.
