Frasers Property an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality
Frasers Property has retained the Employer of Choice for Gender Equality (EOCGE) citation for 2023-25, as announced by the Australian Government’s Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA).
The WGEA Employer of Choice for Gender Equality citation is a voluntary citation designed to encourage, recognise and promote an employer’s active commitment to achieving gender equality.
Criteria for the citation cover leadership, learning and development, gender remuneration gaps, flexible working and other initiatives to support family responsibilities, employee consultation, preventing sex‑based harassment and discrimination, and targets for improving gender equality outcomes.
Frasers Property has held the citation since 2018-19 and Frasers Property Australia General Manager People & Culture Jane Wildmun says it’s an important benchmark for the organisation.
“Retaining the Employer of Choice for Gender Equality citation is evidence that the programs and policies that comprise our Diversity & Inclusion approach are having the necessary impact on the working lives of everyone at Frasers Property,” she says.
“This approach is evident through our support for those with caring responsibilities, our gender-neutral parental leave approach, closing the gender pay gap, flexible work arrangements, preventing gender-based harassment, discrimination, sexual harassment and bullying, and driving change beyond our own workplace.
“This work is ongoing. To foster an inclusive, equal culture demands a constant focus, and the EOCGE citation is a key benchmark which ensures we remain on track,” Ms Wildmun says.
WGEA CEO Mary Wooldridge says the Employer of Choice for Gender Equality citation recognises an employer’s efforts to tackle the deep-rooted causes of gender inequality in the workplace.
“In taking action to improve gender equality, the EOCGE employers unlock enormous benefits for their business. Employees are more likely to join and to stay in organisations that prioritise a culture of equality and inclusion. Research also shows that businesses with greater gender balance in leadership roles are more profitable and productive,” Ms Wooldridge says.
