Frasers Property Australia has today officially unveiled its $500 million masterplanned community, The Quarry, at Keperra in Brisbane’s north-west.
Spanning 48.7 hectares, the hillside precinct is being transformed from a well-known quarry, into Brisbane’s most elevated community featuring a mix of home and land sites, terrace homes, extensive placemaking and shared resort-style amenity.
Cameron Leggatt, Executive General Manager Development, said the company has spent the past two years undertaking an extensive transformation of the landscape with a focus on placemaking and connectivity.
“This is without doubt one of the most significant urban transformations we’ve undertaken and it’s a challenge we’ve embraced wholeheartedly,” Mr Leggatt said.
“Some of Brisbane’s most celebrated precincts have been transformed from industrial style uses into vibrant urban renewal precincts and The Quarry is one of those chapters in that renewal.
“The site’s sculptural setting lends itself to dynamic architecture and landscaping, and we have partnered with an exceptional team of architects, place makers and landscape designers to bring our vision to life.”
Located 9.5 kilometres north-west of the Brisbane CBD, Keperra is an established suburb with pent-up demand for new housing supply due to its proximity to leading schools, healthcare, and major transport infrastructure.
The Keperra Quarry, which mines granite, has operated for more than 50 years and will progressively curb operations as the development of the residential stages advance.
Scott Ullman, General Manager Queensland Development, said homes will be built on elevated platforms up to 170m above sea level, enabling them to capture views overlooking the D’Aguilar Range, Glasshouse Mountains, Moreton Bay and beyond.
“Residents will also enjoy access to ClubQ, the $5 million Rothelowman-designed community recreation centre complete with an entertainer's kitchen, dining room, event spaces, library and work zones.
“Other ClubQ amenities include a 25m lap pool with an adjoining sun deck, two additional resort-style walk-in pools with an integrated waterfall and kids splash and play area, and a private wellness centre featuring a fully equipped gymnasium and meditation room.
“It’s not your traditional subdivision. More than 40 per cent of the community is dedicated to existing bushland and newly curated green space and resident amenities. ClubQ is the heart, and the residents will own it.”
“This first land release of 29 home sites range in size from 243 to 609sqm and is punctuated by its beautiful aspect to the D’Aguilar Range.”
Mr Ullman said the landscaping surrounding ClubQ will be woven throughout the site to deliver a beautiful transformation of the old quarry into a lush and quality landscape, including more than 100,000 plants and trees in a true mission towards regeneration.
“Our passion for innovation and creating vibrant communities across Australia has been part of our history for almost 100 years,” he said.
“With this history comes a track record of delivering transformational urban renewal, from the award-winning Hamilton Reach community on the Brisbane River, to Midtown in Macquarie Park in New South Wales, also a former quarry site.”
Land prices start from $580,000. For more information visit quarrykeperra.com.au.
